Call for Nominations - USSPC Board of Directors

The U.S. Seafood Policy Council (USSPC) is seeking nominations for two (2) additional members to join our Board of Directors. If you are passionate about advancing policies that strengthen the American seafood industry and have expertise in seafood policy, aquaculture, or sustainability, we encourage you to apply via a self-nomination.

The USSPC is a public-private partnership dedicated to promoting and supporting a strong, sustainable, and resilient domestic seafood industry. We work closely with federal, state, tribal, multilateral, and industry partners to shape policies that enhance seafood sustainability, resilience, and profitability across the United States.

About the Role

This is a volunteer (unremunerated), remote position on the USSPC Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will:
✔ Contribute to policy discussions and strategic initiatives
✔ Attend board meetings and participate in key decision-making
✔ Provide leadership and advocacy for the seafood industry
✔ Collaborate with stakeholders to advance responsible seafood policies

Board members are reimbursed on a limited basis for organization-related travel and expenses for meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:
✅ Knowledge of seafood policy and industry regulations
✅ A bipartisan and solutions-focused approach
✅ Industry expertise in seafood, aquaculture, or marine sustainability
✅ Experience in policy development, advocacy, or government affairs
✅ Strong communication and leadership skills
✅ Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment
✅ Understanding of environmental and sustainability issues related to seafood

Previous board or committee experience is a plus but not required. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
